INLAY AND ONLAY DENTAL RESTORATIONS
Inlays and Onlays are restoration methods to support, cover and repair damaged or broken teeth.
Inlays and Onlays are restoration methods to support, cover and repair damaged or broken teeth, teeth that have undergone root canal treatment, teeth that have suffered a large amount of decay with only a weak structural integrity remaining, for teeth where the contact with neighbouring teeth has disappeared or for discoloured teeth.
Inlay and Onlay restorations are specially evaluated before a prosthesis is prepared, and inserted into the patient’s mouth. These aesthetic dental restorations are compatible with tooth structure, but are three times more resistant to abrasion than the patient’s natural teeth.
Before being permanently bonded to the patient’s natural teeth, inlays and onlays are crafted by our highly experienced dental technicians in our own in-house laboratory. Inlay and Onlay restorations are durable and long lasting giving the patient an aesthetic smile and confidence.
How are Inlay-Onlay Restorations fitted?
Carious or damaged teeth are cleaned before measurements are taken. A temporary and easily removable filling material is applied to the cleaned teeth. A cast is taken by the dentist and given to our laboratory technicians. On a second appointment, the Inlay or Onlay is fitted, paying extra attention to dental floss compatibility, and if necessary, any adjustments are made, before cementing into place.
What are the advantages of Inlay and Onlay Restorations?
They:
- are aesthetic, comfortable and long lasting
